TERMS AND CONDITIONS

AGREEMENT FOR MOVING AND PACKING

These terms and conditions apply to all contracts for which you have requested us to arrange the carriage of goods (“Movers”). By booking a move with us, you (“Customer”) acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.

1. DEFINITIONS

  1. “We” refers to P S RANA PTY Ltd, ABN 60 627083416. “Us” and “Our” have corresponding meanings.
  2. “You” refers to the party agreeing with us, including the party to whom our quotation is addressed and the party by whom the acceptance is signed. “Your” has a corresponding meaning.
  3. “Goods” refers to all furniture and other effects that are the subject of the Services.
  4. “Services” refers to the work undertaken by us in connection with the Goods, including removal and, if applicable, storage.
  5. “Subcontractor” refers to any person other than our employees who performs or agrees to perform any part of the Services under an agreement with us.
  6. “Container” refers to the shipping container or storage module we provide, including all packing materials.
  7. “Storage Facility” refers to any warehouse premises we or our destination agent occupy.
  8. Words in the singular include the plural, and words in one or more genders include all genders.
  9. These terms and conditions can be varied or amended only with prior written agreement.

2. REMOVAL SERVICES

  1. We are not common carriers and accept no liability as such. We are professional movers equipped for your needs.
  2. We reserve the right to refuse to quote for the carriage of goods at our discretion.
  3. Any pick-up/delivery time or date advised is indicative only. We may alter this time or date before the move if necessary.
  4. We may refuse to undertake work if our removalists believe there are safety risks or if the work is not suitable for our equipment.

3. LOCAL MOVES (within the same state)

  1. An hourly rate or flat rate will apply, with additional fees for call-out, return, depot-to-depot, fuel, stairs, heavy lifting, and special items, as agreed in writing.
  2. Payment may be required upfront or during the move. We reserve the right to store goods until payment is cleared.
  3. Extra fees apply for items added to the moving list without prior consultation.
  4. Tolls are at the customer’s expense.
  5. Our quote for trucks and removalists is based on the information provided and does not guarantee completion within a specific timeframe.
  6. Additional charges may apply for items requiring extra physical effort.

4. YOUR OBLIGATIONS

  1. The information you provide is accurate and relied upon for a quotation or estimate.
  2. You are either the owner of the goods or an authorized agent.
  3. You or a representative must be present during loading and unloading. We are not responsible for goods if no one is present.
  4. Inspect all goods upon unloading. Report any damage immediately to us via email or on the booking sheet.
  5. Do not include dangerous, corrosive, explosive, or noxious goods without prior written disclosure. We may refuse to remove or store such items.
  6. Notify us in writing of any fragile, brittle, or valuable items with a value over $1,000 before the move.
  7. Be polite and professional. We reserve the right to refuse service if you or your representatives are not professionals.
  8. Perform a final inspection of your property before our removalists leave to ensure nothing is left behind.

5. DELIVERY

We will deliver the goods only to you or a person authorized in writing. If we cannot deliver due to the absence of an authorized person, access issues, or other reasons beyond our control, we may unload the goods into a warehouse and charge for storage and redelivery.

6. CANCELLATION OR POSTPONING THE MOVE

  1. For notice between 12-24 hours or the same day, a minimum cost will be charged.
  2. For notice between 24-48 hours, a $150 fee will apply.
  3. Cancellation fees vary based on the job booked.

7. PAYMENT AND DEPOSITS

  1. A deposit is required to secure your local booking. The deposit is non-refundable, subject to the cancellation policy.
  2. Full payment is due upon completion of the move by Bank Transfer or Cash.
  3. We may withhold goods until the final payment is made.
  4. You are liable for costs incurred to recover overdue payments.
  5. Goods may be seized or sold if payment is not made within 28 days of the move.

8. DELAYS IN TRANSIT

  1. Arrival times are estimated and may vary due to previous jobs.
  2. Delays may occur due to weather, traffic, mechanical issues, or emergencies.
  3. We are not liable for delays caused by factors beyond our control.
  4. We do not accept responsibility for losses due to delays.

9. SERVICES

  1. We provide moving services, including transport, labor, and expertise.
  2. Packing services are available if specifically requested.
  3. We may use Subcontractors, but these conditions will still apply.

10. INSURANCE

  1. Public Liability Insurance coverage is up to $5 Million, with a $500 excess payable by the customer. A Certificate of Currency is available on request.
  2. We do not provide Goods and Transit Insurance. It is recommended that you arrange your insurance.

11. OUR GUARANTEE

  1. Repair: We may repair damaged goods to their condition before damage.
  2. Replace: We may replace damaged goods if repair is not possible.
  3. Compensate: We may compensate up to $100 per item or package, or $1000 in total, whichever is less. This is not a “new for old” service.

12. EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY

We exclude liability for:

  1. Unconfirmed items were added without prior consultation.
  2. Damage due to existing conditions or inappropriate manpower.
  3. Unknown risks or defects are not immediately obvious.
  4. Inadequate or inappropriate packing.
  5. Failure to notify us of damage at the time of completion.
  6. Unavoidable risks or specific fragile items.
  7. Internal damage to electrical goods or curved televisions.
  8. Non-structural damages, consequential loss, or damage.
  9. Items are part of a set or collection.
  10. Transport damage is compensated by insurance.
  11. Mobile storage issues.
  12. Unpaid fees.
  13. Gratis or single removalist moves.
  14. Glass, stone items, unpacked goods, perishable goods, atmospheric conditions, and negligence.

13. TIME WINDOW (Calculation of time)

  1. Arrival times are approximate.
  2. Time begins at pick-up and ends upon unloading at the drop-off site.
  3. Flat rate conditions do not apply to time calculations.

14. RIGHTS RESERVED

  1. We may suspend work due to health and safety concerns.
  2. We reserve the right to refuse to transport items exceeding safe-lifting limits.

15. RESPONSIBILITY OF CUSTOMER

  1. Inform us of the correct contact details and address changes. We exclude liability if contact details are incorrect.
  2. Ensure nothing is left behind or taken by mistake.

16. PAYMENT

We accept cash and bank transfers. Only bank receipts are accepted for bank transfers.

17. EXTRA STUFF

Any items not included in the inventory list or informed to us before the move may be subject to additional charges or exclusions.
